I <3 Open Office, or Task 16

I've always preferred Firefox. I use it at work. I encourage patrons to use Firefox over Internet Explorer. I think it's a superior browser, and I like the idea that I'm supporting a company that let's you download their web browser for free. However, I have never heard of Open Office and didn't really know the definition of open source software until now. I'm pretty stoked about it. After having downloaded Open Office and played around on it a bit, I've decided that as soon as I get home I'm downloading onto my own home PC. I can not see how Microsoft is still in business with this kind of stuff lying around just waiting for someone to bring it home with them. Is Bill Gates freaking out...the answer is yes, or at least he should be. There's actually software that you can download for free (very quickly and painlessly, I might add) that does the exact same thing as the Microsoft programs- only better! Better still, Open Office and open source software totally adheres to the philosophy behind the library: free information for all. This is the reason I started working here. I will most certainly be recommending Open Office to all of our patrons down in the computer area, and to pretty much everyone I know.
