Can you tell that I figured out how to download an e-book from overdrive? Well, I did. I surprised myself with how good I was, considering how much trouble I've had with audio-books. Adobe's Digital Editions download was very straightforward and the e-book I chose downloaded onto the program in about 10 seconds. The only (very small) complaint I have is that there weren't enough e-book titles from which to choose, but I'm sure that will be remedied over time. So, because I'm so awesome and in celebration of my slaying the overdrive dragon, I'm going to buy myself a Kindle...just kidding. I don't have that kind of money; I work at the library!

Plus, you could always just use yer new Ipad...
ReplyDeletePlus, it doesn't work with the Kindle! "Please note that the Kindle is NOT compatible with our OverDrive e-books. The Nook IS compatible, as is the Sony Reader." The new i-Pad should be compatible, too :)
ReplyDeletefrom the looks of things, the Nook is the one I'd go with, but for that minor problem you already mentioned. A couple-hundred bucks is a bit steep, when you can borrow the text version for free...
ReplyDeleteThe OverDrive collection committee definitely has adding more e-books on their radar. I spoke with Jimmy (Marmot director) last week to express our library's interest in increasing that collection.
